My Story

Growing up in Scranton, I was lucky to learn glass art from my grandfather and father. My grandfather picked up the trade after his career as a steeplejack - the origins of ‘steeple’ in this name - where it all began. I feel grateful to have learned from them and have the opportunity to share it with others.

My work employs themes of surrealism, nature, and the dichotomy between life’s pain and beauty. My pieces celebrate the depth of emotions life has to offer. I love to explore and share the power in putting a modern spin on a traditional medium. I hope to bring a brightness into your home--to address the darkness, shine a light through it, and make it more beautiful. Each work is intended to connect with my motto, May the world’s wild beauty always disturb you.

I am most inspired by “my people”: cherished, beautiful, complex bringers of light into any of my dark corners. My dream is to help you feel more at home in your own space, and bring you a similar feeling of peace.

When I am not working on glass, I am an engineer by profession. But I mostly enjoy spending time with my people and my two dogs (Lucy & Clover). I take advantage of any amount of time I can spend with my friends. I would like to thank my loved ones who have supported me through offering up extra studio space, showing consistent interest, encouraging me to pursue sharing my art, and inspiring me daily. Currently my studio resides in my homes ‘shed’, the inspiration for the second half of this name. I strive to honor both the past and present of this medium and my journey.

I would like to dedicate these pieces to my grandfather who brought this art form into my life. He was a shining reminder of bringing light into any room.

I would love to see where my work ends up! Please send me pictures when it makes it to its home!
